Built by Three Friends
Commu was founded in 2022 by three young entrepreneurs: Karoliina, Sami, and Ronnie. Commu’s goal was to make it easier to offer and ask for help. Development of the Commu mobile app began. From the very beginning, it was clear that Commu would serve individual users, organizations, municipalities, and businesses as broadly as possible. This would make it possible to promote a sense of community and reduce loneliness.
From helping to even bigger Social Impact
Over the years, helping others on Commu has expanded from individual acts of neighborly good deeds to become part of a much broader community platform. We have integrated municipal and city services, as well as resident councils, for example, which enable residents to participate in and influence their own local communities. Company employees also participate in volunteer work through Commu. Along the way, Commu’s board of directors has also been restructured to support growth toward a more strategic, broader community platform perspective.
